Fire Extinguishers

Specialists in the supply, installation and maintenance of Fire Extinguishers.

For over 20 years we have supplied, installed and serviced fire extinguishers for businesses, homes, schools and places of worship across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London. Our engineers are FIA trained and refresh that training regularly, so every installation and service meets the relevant British Standards.

We supply a full range of extinguishers to suit any environment, sourced from a UK supplier and finished in high-quality red polyester paint so they stand out clearly in an emergency.

Extinguisher types we supply:

  • Water
  • Foam (fluorine-free)
  • Powder
  • CO2
  • Lith-Ex (lithium battery fires)

We can advise on the right size, medium and placement for your premises, whether that is a single office, a commercial site, a vehicle, a healthcare setting or a residential property.

Servicing and Maintenance

Regular servicing keeps your extinguishers compliant and ready to use. We carry out annual servicing in line with BS 5306, along with commissioning of new units and extended testing when due, giving you a clear record for your fire safety file and insurers.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

QUESTIONS

Are fire extinguishers a legal requirement?

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, non-domestic premises must be equipped with appropriate firefighting equipment, which usually means fire extinguishers. The number and type you need is determined by your fire risk assessment, and we can advise on both.

How many fire extinguishers do I need, and where should they go?

This depends on the size, layout and risk of your premises, following the guidance in BS 5306. As a rule, no one should have to travel far to reach an extinguisher, and cover is needed on every floor. We will survey your premises and recommend the right number, types and locations.

Which fire extinguisher should I use on which type of fire?

Different fires need different extinguishers: water for wood and paper, foam for flammable liquids, CO2 for electrical fires, powder for a mix of risks, and Lith-Ex for lithium battery fires. Using the wrong type can be dangerous, so we help you choose and position the right ones.

What do the different colours on fire extinguishers mean?

All modern extinguishers have a red body with a coloured label or band showing the type: red for water, cream for foam, blue for powder, black for CO2 and yellow for wet chemical. This makes it easy to grab the right one quickly in an emergency.

How long does a fire extinguisher last?

With regular servicing, most extinguishers last around five to ten years depending on the type and condition, at which point they are either given an extended service or replaced. We will tell you when a unit is due so you are never caught out.

What is a Lith-Ex extinguisher and do I need one?

Lith-Ex extinguishers are designed for fires involving lithium-ion batteries, such as those in e-bikes, e-scooters, laptops and power tools. If you store, charge or use these items on your premises, a Lith-Ex extinguisher is worth considering, and we can advise on the right cover.

Can you service extinguishers supplied by another company?

Yes. We are happy to take over the servicing and maintenance of your existing extinguishers, whoever supplied them, and will let you know if any need replacing.

Do you supply extinguishers for vehicles and specialist settings?

Yes. As well as offices and commercial sites, we supply and service extinguishers for vehicles, healthcare settings, places of worship and residential properties, matching the extinguisher to the environment.

Do you provide fire extinguisher training?

Yes. We offer practical training so your team knows which extinguisher to use and how to use it safely and confidently. You can find out more on our Fire Training page.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, and supply, install and service fire extinguishers across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London.
